Description

Interactive PROFoils are designed to accommodate between 2 and 40 simultaneous touches at the same time. Each touchfoil applies directly to a glass or acrylic surface, and allows you to interact with the display using basic gestures like pinching, dragging, zooming, and others. With up to 40 simultaneous touches, you and a group of friends or coworkers can interact at the same time without disrupting each other. PROFoils are extremely accurate and use the most advanced touchfoil technology available.

When using a PROFoil, its responsiveness is the critical factor to consider for the end-user experience. In order to give customers a simplified way of measuring responsiveness, touchfoils of all types are judged by two main aspects: the number of touch points and the resolution.

A “touch point” is simply any time a user is interacting with the screen. For every touch point that a foil can handle, another source of input can be tracked simultaneously. For instance, if a foil was labeled as “10-point,” that would mean that up to 10 inputs (i.e. fingers) can be used on the screen at once.

The “resolution” of a foil is an indicator of how accurately it can track touch input. This accuracy is determined by how many sensors are present in the foil. For instance, a standard 2-point PROFoil has slightly more than 2,000 input sensors and provides a resolution of “2K.” A 10-point PROFoil, however, has over 4,000 input sensors and provides a resolution of “4K”. This allows a 10-point foil to track touch input twice as accurately as a 2-point foil.

*Note: Wider foils do not have more input sensors than smaller foils. The wider the foil you are planning to order, the higher the touch resolution we recommend.

What is Multi-Touch?

2-Point (Dual-Touch)

A 2-point PROFoil gives great responsiveness for projects that are on a smaller scale. If you plan to only have one or two people using the screen at once, then a 2-point PROFoil will give you all the coverage you need at a lower price point. Each 2-point PROFoil contains 2,048 individual touch sensors.

With a 2-point PROFoil, you will be able to easily use the drag, drop, zoom, or even right-click gestures just as you would on a standard mobile device. This type of foil is perfect for projects that do not require a large amount of input, such as a “point-and-tap” kiosk. It is also well suited for displays that are used in a presentation setting.

10-Point, 20-Point, & 40-Point (Multi-Touch)

If your project is meant to accommodate multiple user interaction, then our Multi-Touch PROFoils are what you need. By upgrading to a multi-touch format, these foils have twice the resolution as a 2-point, dual-touch foil. The number associated with each foil represents how many points of touch (i.e. fingers) can interact with the surface at the same time.

Having a 10, 20, or 40-point multi-touch PROFoil gives you access to the same gestures as a 2-point foil, but with twice the accuracy and up to 20 times the amount of possible users. This type of foil is typically used in situations that have a consistent level of traffic. Trade show presentations, office conference rooms, and lobby displays benefit greatly from what a standard multi-touch foil can provide.

What is Pro Touch X?

Pro Touch X: The New Gold Standard

Recently released, our Pro Touch X foils take touch accuracy to the next level. With over 8,000 individual sensors, Pro Touch X doubles the resolution of a standard multi-touch foil and quadruples that of a dual-touch. For larger projects that need precise tracking, Pro Touch X delivers. The Pro Touch X is a lightweight, through-glass touch foil technology that applies to windows, glass surfaces, acrylic, and other non-metallic materials. With no external wires or devices, the touch foil components are situated safely behind the viewing surface while you enjoy up to 40 points of simultaneous contact.

Our touch foil technology continues to work despite any water or other liquids contacting the viewing surface, and can function normally on horizontally curved surfaces. Interactivity is constant even with a gloved hand, and is not affected by external light conditions. We provide a wide range of touch foil sizes, with standard sizes ranging from 32” – 100” 16:9 standard. Custom sizes and options are available. Pro Touch X Films work with all existing multimedia applications, including Macromedia, PowerPoint, Flash, websites, and more! Simple set-up: the USB touch foil is installed directly onto the viewing surface with the rear-projection film, LCD, or LED displays placed behind the Pro Touch 40X foil.
